On Saturday, February 24, Christine Wysocki (Environmental Planner) and Joe Arrowsmith (Water Resources Engineer) participated in the Anne Arundel County Watershed Stewards Academy 7th Annual Conference.
The Watershed Stewards Academy provides resources, tools, and training to County residents who want to take action to improve the health of their waterways. To become a Certified Steward, students must attend a 10-session certification course, culminating in a capstone restoration project. Christine is a Certified Steward (class of 2014), and Joe has provided technical assistance and support to Stewards on their capstone projects.
The theme for this year’s event was Spring into Action! The sessions encouraged Stewards to “think BIG” with strategies to enhance community outreach and secure funding for restoration work. Straughan is thrilled to support the Watershed Stewards Academy. To learn more, visit their website at: http://aawsa.org.
