Our Approach
Straughan is providing ongoing support to the Columbia Association, a large, planned community in Howard County Maryland with approximately 100,000 residents and nearly 3,600 acres of open space.
We support the Capital Improvement Division with ongoing maintenance and public improvement efforts. Our team provides design assistance to the Association for stormwater treatment/management, water quality retrofits, and stream restoration projects.
Straughan has provided engineering design, drafting, natural resources inventory, permitting, and construction inspection services. Our team also supports the Columbia Association with grant applications to secure funding for watershed improvement projects. Straughan’s completed projects include stream and outfall stabilization, bioretention, rain gardens, pond dredging, feasibility studies and concept design services.
