Our Approach
Straughan is part of a dynamic team providing multi-year comprehensive construction inspection services on a wide variety of SHA infrastructure projects throughout SHA’s District 7. Our inspectors are providing the full range of construction inspection services including on-site inspections, schedule reviews and compliance, preparation of Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs), review of progress invoice payments, contract administration and claims assistance and contractor coordination. We are providing these services both in the field and as office engineers, seamlessly augmenting and integrating with SHA personnel to function as one team. Our objective is to represent the State of Maryland’s interests to ensure project quality as well as on time and on budget project delivery. We hold and maintain the requisite certifications in the areas of safety, soils and aggregates, concrete and pavements, erosion and sediment control, traffic control and drainage/stormwater management necessary to execute these inspection services.
Projects that we have worked on under this contract include Hampstead Streetscape Project in Hampstead, MD, Boundary Creek Road Safety Improvements in Frederick, MD, and the Bridge Replacement of Bridge No. 1008400 MD 355 Urban Pike over CSX in Frederick, MD, among many others.
