Marine Barracks Building 8 Renovation

Straughan provided sustainability consulting services for the 72,801 square foot Marine Barracks Building 8 Renovation Project, helping achieve LEED Certification and High Performance and Sustainable Building (HPSB) Guiding Principles Validation (GPV) compliance.

Back

Our Approach

The Marine Barracks Building 8 Renovation project consisted of the 72,801 square foot 3-story historic building including full interior renovations and site improvements. Straughan Environmental worked as the sustainability consultant to support the contractor in tracking, and documenting HPSB and LEED requirements towards HPSB Guiding Principles Validation compliance and LEED certification requirements. HPSB Guiding Principles were tracked concurrently with LEED credit requirements, most of which were met through the more stringent LEED credit documentation requirements.

Straughan developed key Sustainability deliverables including the Sustainability Action Plan and Construction Indoor Air Quality Management Plan to guide the process for implementing and achieving project sustainability goals throughout construction and post-occupancy. At Substantial Completion, Straughan coordinated with the design and construction teams to address LEED reviewer comments and submit final Sustainability documentation, achieving a LEED Certification and HPSB GPV compliance.
