Our Approach
Straughan has provided multifaceted environmental consulting services to Prince George’s County to support its Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP), stormwater compliance programs, and public outreach. Our work has included stream health assessments, GIS-based watershed analyses, nutrient credit calculations, and public education efforts to engage residents in managing runoff. Straughan helped the County align its Rain Check Rebate and Alternative Compliance Programs with local regulations while maximizing water quality benefits.
We supported program implementation through site evaluations, BMP design guidance, application procedures, and development of educational materials. Our team collaborated with nonprofit and faith-based organizations, facilitated stakeholder meetings, and ensured successful engagement through workshops and outreach materials. Our recommendations helped the County increase its stormwater retrofits, engage more property owners, and demonstrate MS4 permit progress.
