Our Approach

Straughan participated in a project for Maryland Port Administration (MPA) that used the Azure DevOps environment to complete testing of a web mapping application called Port View 2.0. Straughan tested the features and tools of the in-development version of the application to ensure that all elements met the requirements from MPA.

Port View 2.0 features groups of data layers and tools that focus on specific business areas and allow MPA users easy access to geospatial data, reports, charts, documents, and photos. To ensure that all MPA requirements for the application were met, the Straughan team used Azure DevOps (ADO) to test the application. Straughan tested application features and tool functionality such as layer symbology, grouping, labeling, and zoom scale dependency, attribute table display, pop-up configuration, basemap options, photo and document availability, map navigation functions, and measure, export selected features, search, and print widgets. ADO was used to track testing progress, record issues, and foster communication between the development and testing teams. Straughan tested and retested ADO stories that referred to specific testing criteria and created bugs to record errors detected in the application during testing.
